Nature Walk – Part 1
Is there art in nature? Definitely. Is there art in my nature photographs? Debatable. What’s certain is nature’s beauty. I tried to capture some of it on this hike through one of my favorite Illinois parks. These images were taken a couple of months back, when the weather was still warm.
This is a view across the park’s lake towards sunset.

Another view across the lake. I didn’t really like the way the original contre-jour picture turned out so I applied some processing in Photoshop. What resulted, I hope, feels psychedelic.

Maybe I should call this one “Fly Fishing”. This fly resting on the stump looked like it was about to be snatched by a piranha ![]()

A green window exposes a reed.

I didn’t actually look through the viewfinder for this shot. I had a general idea of what I expected and this is what I got. I like the angle of this photo, taken with the camera at ground level.
