Frozen Beach - Part 1

Last summer I discovered this stretch of sand on the shores of Lake Michigan and since then I consider it my own private spot. Well, that is to say, it is private to me and a zillion others, but compared to the beaches close to the heart of Chicago, this one feels pretty much secluded. Especially in winter. I’ve been entertaining this idea of photographing the shores of a lake or sea on a bitter cold winter day but somehow I never got the chance to actually do it. This January though, I had my spot and I found a day I could spare for indulging myself in some frozen photography. So I grabbed a friend and we headed to that place. It was a sunny and mildly cold day but there were many frozen things that we could shoot. Here’s part 1 of my longest series so far.

(For this series I used the Canon 30D along with 3 lenses: Canon 10-22mm, Canon 100mm macro and Canon 100-400L IS).

frumos, insa cred ca mergea o diafragma mai mare (daca era posibil :) ) … din cauza bokeh-ului, pentru a fi mai rotund :P
