Chicago’s Belmont Harbor

Well, here I am back after a very long time during which I engaged in a multitude of pleasant activities. Photography unfortunately took to the sidelines but it still remains one of my main hobbies.

Here are three photos that I took a while back (in fact I wanted to post them last year in 2008 but somehow I never got the chance) in a nice place called Belmont Harbor close to Chicago’s downtown. It’s a nice, quiet area on the lakefront where you can take a stroll along the shore on a sunny afternoon.

The last two pictures are long exposures (about 30 seconds) of the waterline, taken in broad daylight, with a bunch of neutral density Cokin filters in front of the lens. I applied some “cross-processing” in Photoshop and the result is very… dreamy.
