Tyler, on the right side of the lens on the same ring as the ASA setting window you will see a small metal tab. I find I have to push in with a finger nail and the move it up or down to the desired setting,

Thanks Tyler! On my camera there's a small dial on the barrel of the lens. Here's a link to a shot of the barrel:

Great review! I just purchased this very same camera. I must ask though, how do you change the ISO? I can rotate the aperture and shutter without a hitch, but can't manage to find the nob/wheel to change the iso.

thanks!

Felix you have my answer in your email. I'm also posting it here so others can read it.
<blockquote>
My Canonet came with the PX625A already loaded. The voltage is 1.5v as you said. The camera works perfectly with this type of battery. Now from what I read on various websites, what people are saying is this: even if the Canonet is NOT re-calibrated, the light meter still works with the 1.5 battery. The only problem would be that the exposure is slightly off. You can tell if it's been calibrated by simply loading it with the 1.5v battery and shooting a roll of film in normal lighting conditions. If the pictures come out over of under-exposed, then it's most likely it hasn't been calibrated.

There's a high chance that my copy of the Canonet has been re-calibrated at one point. The metering seems correct, unless Walmart compensated when processing the film. Either way, I don't really care if the metering is slightly off. I use this camera as a novelty rather than for any serious work.

I recently had my wifes Canonet QL17 refurbished and it is an excellent camera. I also had a Minolta SRT 101 refurbished-another excellent camera.
But I do have a question that was addressed with the Minolta but you haven't addresed what might be a similar problem with the Canonet. Both Cameras were specified as using 1.35V M20(#625) mercury batteries or Mallory PX-625, or Eveready EPX-625. The repairer of the Minolta said he had to recalibrate the exposure meter in the SRT 101 because Mercury batteries are no longer in use. Note also that the originally specified mercury batteries were 1.35Volts, while the 625's are 1.5v.

Have you had any trouble using the PX625A batteries in the Cononet?

I'd appreciate your comments and experience.
