About
Who am I? Sometimes I ask myself the same question. The short answer is: no one of consequence. I’m expendable. (I love the term – expendable. Makes me think of governments and plots and conspiracy theories… that sort of thing.) The longer answer follows.
I am a dreamer. In between dreaming I like taking photos so I am also a bit of a photographer. I don’t know how good a photographer I am, but I strive. I dabble in what is termed as ‘art photography’, which means mostly non-commercial stuff. Since photography is also a state of mind, sometimes I don’t feel like doing it but mostly it’s a matter of not having enough time to indulge in it.
My favorite subjects are nature (including landscapes), abstract concepts, macro and close-ups, and street photography. I have used digital cameras until recently when I also started venturing into the world of film rangefinders. Since I am a Canon fan I have used and probably will use this brand for many years.
Coming from a background of web design, graphic design, illustration and web programming, I am also fairly proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Apart from my photo entries, articles, musings and equipment reviews, I might also occasionally post a short Photoshop or Illustrator tutorial. And even rarer still, you – my esteemed visitor – will get to read some of my poetry. Everyone knows that dreamers are also poets, even though most of them (myself included) don’t know how to express themselves.
Update 12-29-07:
As some of you might have noticed, I have really become involved in this Strobist business, namely learning how to light with off-camera flashes. Awesome stuff, I’m telling you.
